About the role
We are currently looking for a Physical Education Lead to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Physical Education Lead, you will lead the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of physical education and physical activity programmes within Inspire's educational programme LinC working alongside our students (primary level of education).
Working collaboratively with the Physical Activity Instructor and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that programmes are evidence-based, individualised, and aligned with each student's educational and therapeutic goals.
What you'll be doing
• Plan, develop and deliver individualised physical activity and physical education programmes that are adapted to students' abilities, goals and support needs.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments of students' physical abilities, motor skills and functional performance to inform programme planning.
• Ensure that all sessions have a clear structure, including an appropriate beginning, middle and end, supported by suitable resources and visual schedules.
• Ensure that sessions provide meaningful opportunities for student choice and participation and that the appropriate visual supports are used throughout the daily sessions.
• Lead engaging group sessions while providing individualised support where appropriate.
• Promote participation, inclusion and independence through evidence-based physical education practices.
• Facilitate active involvement of practitioners, support workers and other professionals during sessions.
• Design individualised physical education plans in line with the measurable goals and implement a structured assessment framework for the LinC Physical Activity Programme.
• Develop and maintain systems for tracking individual student progress against identified goals and key performance indicators.
• Monitor students' physical development and participation using appropriate assessment tools.
• Record and analyse assessment data to support evidence-based programme development.
• Prepare comprehensive progress reports for parents and guardians at the end of each semester, outlining achievements, progress and future targets.
• Provide timely feedback to clients, parents and relevant professionals regarding individual progress.
• Lead the continuous development of the Physical Activity Programme by introducing innovative, evidence-based practices.
• Support the Physical Activity Instructor through mentoring, collaborative planning and sharing of professional expertise.
• Ensure consistency in programme delivery across all physical activity settings.
• Contribute towards establishing standards, resources and best practices for physical education within the LinC Programme.
• Identify opportunities to improve the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of physical activity services.
• Take responsibility for reviewing and updating programme documentation and assessment processes.
• Lead or co-lead projects related to physical activity services alongside the Physical Activity Instructor.
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of initiatives such as Sports Day, awareness events, community activities and funded refurbishment or development projects relating to physical activity facilities.
• Monitor project progress and contribute to project evaluation and reporting where required.
• Lead Movement Room sessions based at the Bulebel premises.
• Fulfill operational coverage for swimming and physical activity sessions in the absence of the Physical Activity Instructor or according to any other operational requirements.
• Record attendance, assessments, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other documentation as required.
• Work towards implementing best practice methods that meet NAS Accreditation and ISO certification standards.

Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following:
• Bachelor's Degree qualification (MQF Level 6) in Physical Education, Sport & Exercise Science, Adapted Physical Activity, Sport Coaching, Exercise & Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or challenging behaviour.
• Experience in assessments, programme planning, group session delivery, progress reporting and working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
