*Responsibilities*
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, orthodontic treatments, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools for restorative or orthodontic work. Manage patient records using dental practice management software like Dentrix and Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and patient histories. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits. Support front desk operations by performing dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing billing processes. Assist with radiographs (X-rays), taking care to follow safety protocols and medical terminology standards. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order materials as needed to ensure the practice runs efficiently.
*Qualifications*
Previous experience in dental assisting is highly preferred, especially with orthodontics or pediatrics. Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is essential for efficient record-keeping. Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry enhances communication within the team. Familiarity with CAD technology used in restorative or orthodontic procedures is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients, team members, and external providers. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is desirable; ongoing training in orthodontics or pediatrics is a bonus.
