Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Support Worker (37.5 hours per week) within the Early Intervention for Psychosis Team. The service addresses the needs of people aged 14-65 who have recently experienced a first episode of psychosis or aged 14-35 who may be at risk of developing psychosis.
As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred support to service users using a recovery-informed approach. You will work to promote independence, connect service users with the community, and increase wellbeing. You will play a key role in empowering individuals to achieve personal goals and foster recovery.
The role is based in Worcester, however, involves community working and covers the whole of the county. Therefore, you must be able to meet the travel requirements of the job.

Main duties of the job
The duties of the support worker are varied, and based on the recovery goals of the people you are supporting. Some of the main duties may include:
Organising and running physical health clinics, including taking bloods and conducting ECGs.
One-to-one work supporting people to engage in their local community.
Anxiety management, behavioural activation, and graded exposure work.
Supporting or leading groups promoting recovery.
Providing input into MDT discussions.
Linking in with other Trust and community services.
Supporting the wider team with ad hoc tasks.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-level, NVQ3) in Care or equivalent qualification or experience. Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSE, NVQ2) in Care or equivalent qualification or experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post. Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust. I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Additional Criteria Essential
Applicants should be able to work flexibly and with minimal supervision. The ability to cope with changing situations to routine is also important. Able to meet the travel requirements of the post. I understand that the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for this role, and employment on a time limited visa doesn't guarantee sponsorship at point of expiry.
Experience Essential
Previous relevant experience working with the client group. One to one working. Personal care tasks.
Desirable
Working with adults/older adults with mental health problems.
Skills and Abilities Essential
Ability to challenge poor behaviour. Role modelling good behaviour. A positive attitude and able to act on feedback. Ability to praise and be supportive to others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
Knowledge Essential
The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of Communication skills, Literacy skills, Numeracy skills, Advocacy skills, Observing skills, Recording skills, Liaison skills, Social support skills.
