. Warehouse & Inventory Lead
Position Overview
The Warehouse and Inventory Lead is responsible for organizing and monitoring the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received into the warehouse for our commercial roofing company. This position is responsible for ensuring a smooth and consistent operation, so parts and supplies can be located effectively and efficiently and distributed to the proper crews in an appropriate manner. The Warehouse and Inventory Lead will also be tasked with materials and equipment deliveries assisting the crane operator.
Inventory and equipment audits and tracking are crucial responsibilities for this role. The Warehouse and Inventory Lead must be capable of accurately tracking and updating inventory using software.
In addition, this role includes the ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking in a demanding environment. Extensive research abilities and effective communication skills are required.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management
• Stage materials and equipment for projects
• Complete and review daily forklift inspections, coordinate necessary repairs
• Assign or procure proper tools and equipment required to complete specific tasks or projects
• Authorize and arrange for purchase of supplies, tools and equipment and parts
• Track and record all tools and equipment to and from jobs
• Responsible for all material transfers to accounting
• Coordinates all tool and equipment repairs and returns from outside vendors
• Direct recording of expenses and analyze purchase and repair costs to control expenditures
• Eliminate congestion within the warehouse
• Buffer personnel from outside vendors and deliveries
• Ensure company funds and company resources are used only for company business
• Properly store and monitor inventory for maximum efficiency
• Responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the warehouse
• Coordinate landscaping and snow removal services for company property
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
• 3-5 years of warehouse, inventory, or equipment management experience
• Forklift certification
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Valid driver's license
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent Verbal/Written Skills
• Good mechanical aptitude and positive service attitude
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Dependable and trustworthy
• Sharp listening skills and critical thinking skills
• Work under pressure and deal with unexpected challenges in a professional and calm manner
Preferred
• Commercial roofing experience
• Crane rigging experience
• Small engine or mechanical repair experience
• CDL certification
Work Schedule
• Full-time, non-exempt position
• Hours may vary based on operational needs, deliveries, and seasonal workload
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs., and move materials and equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Operation of forklifts and warehouse equipment
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work safely around materials, equipment, and vehicles
Compensation
• $25-$30 per hour (DOE)
