Commercial Roofing Service Foreman
Position Overview
The Commercial Roofing Service Foreman plays a critical role in delivering high-quality commercial roofing service work to customers throughout Southern Minnesota. This role focuses on leading a service crew in the execution of repairs, maintenance, leak investigations, small reroof projects, and customer-driven service requests.
As the Service Foreman, you will coordinate daily service activities, ensure work meets Kato Roofing's standards of quality and safety, and maintain excellent communication with customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage service crews performing repairs, maintenance, inspections, and small reroof projects
• Plan daily activities, including crew assignments, materials, and equipment coordination
• Perform roof leak investigations and diagnose roofing issues
• Complete service repairs on built-up, single-ply, and sheet metal roofing systems
• Ensure all work meets KRI quality standards
• Maintain communication with the Service Superintendent and Service Coordinator
• Serve as the primary customer contact during service visits
• Document work performed with photos, notes, and daily reports
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
• Train, mentor, and develop service technicians
• Identify customer needs and additional service opportunities
• Manage tools, equipment, and materials efficiently
Qualifications & Requirements
• Commercial roofing service and repair experience preferred
• Previous leadership or crew management experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Customer-focused mindset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work independently and lead others effectively
Work Schedule
• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday
• Overtime, evenings, and weekend work may be required
• Travel throughout the service area is required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Work performed primarily on rooftops and customer jobsites
• Exposure to varying weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and navigate roof surfaces
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
• Regular communication, including talking and hearing
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
