Job Title: Production OperatorJob DescriptionThe Production Operator plays a key role in a busy manufacturing facility, working 12-hour rotating shifts to safely bag, palletize, and move graphite product through the production and shipping process. This position handles high volumes of material, operates forklifts and other equipment, and performs quality inspections to ensure products meet strict standards before leaving the facility.Responsibilities
• Bag and palletize product according to written instructions and specific order types, ensuring accurate quantities and proper labeling. • Vacuum large quantities of product from storage holders into industrial bags, following safety and handling procedures. • Sort bags and pallets of product based on order requirements, destination, and quality status. • Stage and wrap pallets for shipment, ensuring stability and protection of product during transport. • Load and unload shipments, including incoming materials and outgoing finished goods, using appropriate equipment and methods. • Perform quality inspections on bags, pallets, and containers to confirm correct packaging, labeling, and product integrity. • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials, pallets, and finished goods throughout the warehouse and manufacturing areas. • Assist in shipping and receiving activities, including organizing inventory, preparing orders, and verifying documentation. • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in a dusty, hot, and noisy manufacturing environment. • Work collaboratively with a small team of production operators to maintain steady workflow and meet production and shipping schedules. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience, preferably in a production or warehouse environment. • Experience with palletizing, staging, and lifting materials in a fast-paced setting. • Ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively in a warehouse or manufacturing facility. • Hands-on experience with general production tasks such as bagging, palletizing, and material handling. • High school diploma or GED. • Ability to work 12-hour rotating Dupont shifts, including both day (7 AM–7 PM) and night (7 PM–7 AM) shifts within the same month. • Comfort working in a very dirty, dusty, hot, and noisy environment and performing physically demanding tasks. • Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards for packaging and product handling. • Reliability and strong work ethic to support long-term, stable production operations. • Prior experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments handling bulk materials. • Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including staging and loading outbound shipments. • Familiarity with quality inspection processes for packaged goods and containers. • Comfort working in small teams with close coordination among production operators. • Willingness to wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety footwear that meets ASTM F2413 standards. • Ability to adapt to rotating shifts and changing production priorities. The environment is very dirty, dusty, hot, and noisy, and contractors should expect to get very dirty during normal duties. Production operators work in small teams; currently there are five operators, and the team is expanding. The position follows a rotating 12-hour Dupont shift schedule, with both day (7 AM–7 PM) and night (7 PM–7 AM) shifts in the same month. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkinsville, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.09 - $20.09/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
