About this role

Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThe Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production and packaging equipment used in the manufacturing of spices, seasonings, and food products. This role ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards and food safety requirementsResponsibilities

• Operate and monitor production and packaging machinery. • Set up equipment and adjust machine settings as needed. • Load raw materials and packaging supplies into machines. • Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. • Monitor production runs and troubleshoot minor equipment issues. • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas. • Complete production records and required documentation. • Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety, and workplace safety procedures. • Report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to supervisors. • Assist with changeovers, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement efforts. Essential Skills

• Previous food manufacturing experience strongly preferred, with familiarity in production line operations and packaging. • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. • Ability to work effectively on a production line with other team members in a fast-paced environment. • Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors and coworkers. • Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds as part of regular job duties. • Basic reading and math skills to follow instructions, complete counts, and record production data. • Basic computer skills to use production-related systems; ability to learn new software as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required. • Experience with Redzone or similar production software is a plus but not required. • Familiarity with food safety certifications such as Organic, Kosher, HACCP, and SQF is beneficial. • Comfort working in a climate-controlled food production environment. • Willingness to cross-train on different lines and in different departments to expand skills. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
