Assembly Technician Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to support the fabrication and assembly of precision mechanical components in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This position is responsible for building, fitting, and inspecting assemblies using engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation. • Build and assemble mechanical components, assemblies, and subassemblies according to engineering documentation and manufacturing instructions. • Align and position parts using fixtures, templates, and designated reference points to ensure proper location and fit. • Interpret technical drawings and assembly prints to complete production tasks accurately. • Measure dimensions and verify tolerances using precision inspection equipment such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and measuring tapes. • Install hardware, fasteners, and structural components to complete assemblies that meet design and quality standards. • Safely use a variety of manual and powered production tools, including drills, rivet equipment, screwdrivers, and related assembly devices. • Mark, drill, ream, and prepare holes for installation of hardware and structural elements. • Secure parts using approved fastening methods and verify completed work against specifications. • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to identify defects, omissions, or nonconforming conditions. • Support production goals by maintaining quality standards and meeting established schedules. • Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting of tools and equipment as required. • Follow manufacturing procedures, standard operating practices, and work instructions at all times. • Maintain an orderly workspace and support workplace organization initiatives. • Comply with all company safety requirements and actively contribute to hazard awareness and prevention efforts. • Document inspection results and production-related information as required. • Complete assignments efficiently while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship. • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management. • Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality. Required Qualifications
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions. • Working knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques and manufacturing processes. • Experience using hand tools and powered assembly equipment safely and effectively. • Familiarity with inspection and measurement tools used to verify dimensional accuracy. • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with a variety of component types. • Experience installing hardware and performing drilling or hole-preparation operations. • Keen attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship. • Ability to follow written procedures, safety rules, and established manufacturing practices. • Dependable work ethic with a commitment to meeting production requirements. • Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery. Preferred Experience
• Technical school, vocational training, or related mechanical coursework. • Six months or more of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience. • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other precision manufacturing environments. • Experience working with positioning fixtures, templates, or assembly tooling. • Familiarity with assembling both small precision parts and larger structural components. • Understanding of preventative maintenance and basic tool upkeep. • Demonstrated commitment to safety, productivity, and quality standards. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
