Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging, distribution, and material handling equipment, including pneumatic systems. You will ensure equipment reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and help maintain a safe and efficient operations environment. Responsibilities • Promote a safe working environment by consistently following all safety procedures and guidelines. • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance routines on material handling equipment and document all work accurately. • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and related components. • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment and associated pneumatic systems. • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to diagnose issues and complete repairs. • Use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical and electronic faults. • Maintain positive working relationships across all areas of the operations facility and collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Track, store, and manage department inventory to ensure availability of tools, parts, and supplies. • Move and lift items up to 49 lbs and perform job duties while standing and walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Travel between departments, floors, and properties within the facility to perform maintenance and repair tasks. • Regularly crouch, reach, kneel, squat, climb steps and ladders, and bend at the waist or legs to install, move, and service equipment. • Use computer systems, including a stand-up desk, to enter maintenance data and documentation for 1–2 hours per day. • Work effectively in an environment with fluctuating temperatures while wearing required protective equipment. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent. • At least 2 years of experience working with automated conveyor systems and controls. • At least 2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment. • At least 2 years of experience performing predictive and preventive maintenance procedures. • At least 1 year of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics. • At least 1 year of knowledge and practical experience with electrical and electronic principles. • Ability to use a multimeter safely and effectively. • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or distribution environment. • Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks accurately and consistently. • Ability to work safely while lifting, moving, and handling equipment up to 49–50 lbs. • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in mechanical or electrical fields. • 2 or more years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines. • Experience working with material handling equipment in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) safety standards and industry safety requirements. • Project management experience, including coordinating maintenance activities and small projects. • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders, scheduling, and record-keeping. • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in an automated environment. • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output (I/O) functions on automated systems. • Familiarity with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for complex systems. • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a large operations facility with automated packaging, distribution, and material handling equipment. You will move between departments, floors, and properties throughout the day, often walking 6 to 12 miles during a shift. The work involves frequent physical activity, including reaching above the head, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps and ladders, crouching, and bending at the waist or legs to install and move equipment. You will regularly lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. The environment can have fluctuating temperatures, and you may work in different areas of the building depending on maintenance needs. You will use tools such as multimeters and work with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, as well as computerized maintenance systems. The role requires wearing protective equipment such as a mask, face shield, and composite-toed boots while performing tasks, and you will periodically work at a computer or stand-up desk for 1–2 hours per day to document maintenance activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
