About this role

Job Title: Crane OperatorJob DescriptionJoin a global leader in metal recycling committed to the circular economy and environmental responsibility. As a Crane Operator, you will operate various scrap handling equipment and play a vital role in maintaining safety and efficiency in our operations. Responsibilities • Operate scrap handling equipment including frontend loader, material handlers, and excavators with attachments. • Adhere to all safety regulations and actively participate in safety meetings. • Conduct pre-shift and end of shift inspections, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and work areas are tidy. • Examine customer materials to determine the ferrous commodity and decide on purchasing. • Inspect products for compliance with company specifications and quality control standards. • Utilize a computer kiosk for purchasing ferrous material and document examination results. • Perform additional duties such as materials handling and general labor as required. Essential Skills • Proficiency in operating forklifts and overhead cranes. • Experience in construction or heavy industry operations. • Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow safety protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment. • Capability to complete inspection reports before using equipment. • Experience in loading and unloading trucks, barges, and rail cars. • Participation in safety meetings and programs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trenton, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
