Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on supporting production by accurately pulling parts and building kits for assemblers in a clean, controlled warehouse environment. You operate handheld scanners, handle electronic and mechanical components, and ensure all materials are prepared and documented with a high level of attention to detail.Responsibilities
• Pull parts from inventory to build kits for assemblers according to production requirements and documentation. • Operate handheld scanners to locate, track, and record parts and materials accurately within the warehouse system. • Perform kitting activities, ensuring all required components are included, labeled, and organized for assembly. • Handle and move electronic components, circuit boards, cables, and mechanical parts safely and efficiently. • Support assembly processes for electronic components used in aircraft and submarines by providing correct and complete kits. • Read and interpret blueprints, wire tabulation, and related documentation to identify and pull the proper parts. • Assist with circuit board and cable assembly tasks as needed, including basic wiring, crimping, and mechanical assembly support. • Follow quality control procedures to verify parts, quantities, and documentation before releasing kits to assemblers. • Use hand tools and follow established methods to prepare materials and assemblies in line with production standards. • Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle materials in accordance with safety and ESD (electrostatic discharge) guidelines. • Collaborate with assemblers and other team members to resolve material issues and ensure continuous workflow. • Work scheduled shifts and required overtime to meet production deadlines and customer delivery commitments. Essential Skills
• Ability to operate a handheld scanner for part pulling, tracking, and inventory management. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate kitting, part identification, and documentation. • Capability to read and understand blueprints and wire tabulation for correct part selection. • Experience with assembly environments, including circuit board assembly and electronic assembly support. • Basic mechanical aptitude for working with mechanical assembly, hand tools, and panel board components. • Understanding of quality control practices in an assembly or warehouse setting. • High school diploma or GED. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnstown, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
