Job Title: Warehouse WorkerJob DescriptionThis role involves working in a warehouse environment to move bags of pet food from one pallet to another in preparation for international shipping. You will help ensure pallets are correctly labeled, photographed, re-wrapped, and staged for forklift operators, contributing directly to efficient and accurate shipping operations. Responsibilities • Move bags of pet food from one pallet to another to meet international shipping requirements. • Stack and organize pallets safely and efficiently to maintain stability and proper load distribution. • Apply labels accurately to products and pallets, following established procedures and shipping standards. • Support the pallet preparation process by ensuring pallets are ready to be photographed, re-wrapped, and handled by forklift operators. • Use material handling tools such as pallet jacks to move pallets within the designated work area. • Perform continuous heavy lifting of 30–60 lbs and up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout the shift. • Remain on your feet for the full shift while working in a defined area of the warehouse. • Read and follow written instructions in English to complete labeling, packing, and shipping tasks correctly. • Record basic information in English as required for labels, documentation, or production tracking. • Work as part of an assembly cell of approximately 20 employees on a labeling line, collaborating to meet daily production and shipping goals. • Maintain a strong attendance record and arrive on time, ready to work each scheduled shift. • Follow safety guidelines and warehouse procedures to ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. • Assist with general labor tasks such as packing, loading, and material handling as needed. • Use RF scanners or similar tools, if required, to support shipping, loading, and inventory processes. • Be available to work afternoon shifts and occasional Saturday shifts during busy periods, particularly month-end and peak seasons. Essential Skills • Strong work ethic and reliability, with a proven record of consistent attendance. • Ability to stand on your feet for 8+ hours per day in a warehouse environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and perform continuous lifting in the 30–60 lb range. • Ability to work well with others and contribute positively to a team-based environment. • Basic English reading skills to understand labels, instructions, and documentation. • Basic English writing skills to complete labels or simple written records as required. • English communication skills to follow directions and coordinate with coworkers and supervisors. • Comfort performing general labor and material handling tasks in a fast-paced setting. • Ability to work afternoon shifts (2:00 pm–10:30 pm) and occasional Saturdays when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in a warehouse, assembly line, or food production environment. • Forklift experience or familiarity working around forklift operations. • Experience with pallet stacking and pallet jack operation. • Experience with packing, loading, and shipping activities. • Experience using RF scanners in a production or warehouse setting. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a clean, well-organized warehouse facility that is accessible by public transit. You will work primarily in an assembly cell of about 20 employees on a labeling line, in a defined area of the warehouse with limited walking but continuous standing. The standard shift is afternoons from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with initial training potentially scheduled from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm before transitioning to the regular shift. Occasional Saturday work may be required, especially during busy periods such as September and month-end. The environment is structured, safety-focused, and production-oriented, with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts operating nearby. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Edmonton, AB. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.58 - $24.58/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
