We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Scarborough, ME.
You will make an impact in the following ways:
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own tools To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Completes complex internal engine repairsPerforms complex unassisted engine overhaulsAbility to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic toolsDetailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and componentsMentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
Must possess, or be able to obtain within one year of hire, a Class A or Class B CDL. This position requires the ability to safely operate and road test customer vehicles and equipment to perform advanced diagnostics, verify repairs, and confirm proper operation prior to returning equipment to service.
A current valid CDL is required for this role.This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violationsThis role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testingThis role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physicalThis role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device useFederal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age Job Service
