Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year
Requirements: We require knowledge of SAVE methodology to run the complete VAVE process.We require 15+ years of experience.We require a Bachelors degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical/Electronics & Communication Engineering, with general technical understanding of electronic and mechanical components.We require 10+ years of previous design engineering experience within electronics and electronics-related products, including power module, ECU, and ADAS design.We require experience in ADAS/HPC products for VAVE analysis.We require experience supporting onsite customer activities.We require previous experience with cost reduction through design improvement.We require the ability to lead teams and VAVE projects without direct authority.We require fluent English communication skills.We require good communication skills.We require program management or product management experience. Responsibilities: We increase profitability by driving design changes or substituting suppliers to reduce overall BOM cost.We facilitate cross-functional workshops with engineering, suppliers, commodity, and purchasing teams to develop cost reduction ideas.We drive design changes through engineering systems using established engineering processes such as CPR, SRC, TRB, CRB, and TCCB.We lead technical discussions and cross-functional project meetings.We work with the Test and Validation group to plan and maintain timing for validating cost-reduction ideas.We present cost reduction ideas to internal and external stakeholders.We support Design to Cost by generating design alternatives to achieve product cost targets.We provide reporting for cost decisions, including status updates, progress toward savings targets, and forward workshop planning.We apply knowledge of hardware design, alternate component selection, and datasheet comparison.We apply knowledge of DRBFM, FMEA, and WCA processes.We use knowledge of power module and ECU module design.We use knowledge of analog circuits, mixed signal, microcontrollers, and microprocessors.We use knowledge of PCB prototyping, assembling, and mechanical design.We negotiate cost deltas for engineering changes when needed.
