About this role

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements: Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control, Automotive, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline.Strong understanding of automotive architectures and ECU-based control systems.Experience with CAN, CAN FD, LIN and Ethernet vehicle communication networks.Proficiency with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer and CANape, or equivalent.Experience analysing vehicle data logs and troubleshooting software, controls and electrical integration issues.Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink and model-based development techniques.Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.Experience with automotive suspension, vehicle dynamics, active aero, power closure or mechatronic systems.Knowledge of AUTOSAR and automotive software development processes.Experience with calibration and parameter tuning.Understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety principles.Experience with HIL, SIL, MIL and vehicle testing methodologies.Knowledge of UDS diagnostics, ECU flashing and configuration.Familiarity with ASPICE or similar automotive development standards.Experience with Python, MATLAB and/or embedded C, plus hands-on vehicle testing and instrumentation. Responsibilities: Support the integration of automotive electronic control systems at vehicle level.Work across software, controls, systems and hardware integration.Carry out vehicle commissioning, calibration, validation and troubleshooting.Analyse vehicle and system data to identify issues and drive corrective actions.Develop and execute test plans across vehicle, bench, HIL, SIL and functional testing.Apply problem-solving skills across software, controls, communications networks and system integration.Support customer demonstrations, prototype development and application engineering activities.Produce clear engineering reports, support root-cause analysis and contribute to product and process improvements. We are a global engineering organisation based in Cambridge, offering on-site working and a salary of £50,000 to £60,000 plus bonus and benefits, depending on experience. We are growing our engineering team and are looking for a Controls Engineer to help develop, integrate, calibrate and validate advanced automotive control systems. You will collaborate closely with software, systems, hardware and customer engineering teams, as well as global engineering teams, contributing to projects from concept and prototype through to production.
