Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year
Requirements: We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience as an Application DBA.We need good knowledge of CA IDMS / IDMS DB/DC in mainframe environments.Experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and the z/OS platform is required.You should understand database structures such as schemas, areas, records, sets, and subschemas.Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures, as well as disaster recovery processes, is required.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.You should be able to work in production support and high-pressure environments.Good communication and stakeholder management skills are needed.7-10 years of experience are required. Responsibilities: We manage and maintain IDMS schemas, subschemas, areas, sets, records, and database definitions.We support application development teams with database design, query optimization, and change implementation.We perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.We troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, and implement permanent fixes.We execute database reorganization, backup, recovery, and migration activities.We review and implement database changes through release management processes.We ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards.We prepare technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.We coordinate with mainframe operations teams for batch jobs and system upgrades.We participate in on-call support and incident management as required.
