About this role

Salary: £117,000 - 143,000 per year

Requirements: Demonstrable commercial experience as a User Researcher.Strong experience delivering research within Agile multidisciplinary teams.Experience planning and conducting a range of user research methods.Ability to synthesise complex findings into meaningful insights and recommendations.Experience presenting research outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Experience working collaboratively with Product Managers, Designers and Delivery teams.Passion for evidence-led decision making and improving user outcomes.Public sector or government experience is desirable.Knowledge of the Government Service Standard and GDS Service Manual is desirable.Experience working on complex digital transformation programmes is desirable.Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive research practices is desirable.Experience using tools such as Dovetail, Miro, FigJam, Figma, Optimal Workshop, Lookback or UserZoom is desirable. Responsibilities: Plan, design and deliver user research across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases.Select and apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods.Conduct user interviews, usability testing, contextual research and workshops.Analyse research findings and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary Agile teams to influence design and product decisions.Present research findings confidently to stakeholders at all levels.Champion user-centred design principles throughout the delivery lifecycle.Ensure research activities are inclusive, ethical and accessible.Support continuous service improvement through ongoing user insight. We are supporting a leading consultancy on a high-profile public sector digital transformation programme. This is a contract opportunity for an experienced User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary Agile team and help ensure user needs remain central to service design and product development. The role is remote within the UK, with occasional travel to Leeds or Manchester, on an initial 6-month contract likely to extend, and it is inside IR35. We offer a competitive, negotiable day rate and the opportunity to help shape digital services through evidence-based research.
