Requirements: Strong commercial experience with C#, .NET 6+, dependency injection, SOLID principles, and clean architecture in production codebases.Experience with Azure Functions, including the consumption model, triggers, bindings, and fan-out/fan-in patterns.Experience with Azure API Management, including API design, policy configuration, and secure consumer patterns.Experience with Azure Service Bus, including message-driven processing, competing consumer patterns, error handling, retry behaviour, and dead-letter handling.Experience with Azure SQL engineering, including stored procedures, T-SQL, schema design, query performance, and deadlock diagnosis in a mature production database.Experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline authoring, automated testing integration, and deployment management.Production operational experience with Application Insights, incident diagnosis, and root cause analysis.Disciplined approach to automated testing; tests are a deliverable, not optional.Experience working in Agile Scrum delivery, including full sprint participation.Proven ability to work fully independently and own work end-to-end from design through to production.Excellent written communication skills for PR descriptions, PBI commentary, ADO notes, and incident updates.Availability and responsiveness during UK core hours, 9am–5pm GMT/BST.Experience with Terraform, Azure Entra ID B2C or Auth0, D365/FinOps integration, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Logic Apps or Power Automate, healthcare domain experience, or AI-assisted development tooling would be advantageous. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver backend services using C#, .NET 6+, and Azure Functions.Build and maintain data access, orchestration, and notification services using clean architecture and dependency injection.Develop and maintain Azure SQL stored procedures, schemas, and data access patterns.Work on event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, including message ingestion, transformation, and error handling.Design and consume REST APIs through Azure API Management.Write automated unit and integration tests throughout the development lifecycle.Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Azure DevOps.Monitor production services using Application Insights and Azure Monitor, and diagnose and resolve issues proactively.Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis when required.Identify technical debt and deliver targeted improvements within sprint capacity.Work closely with Product Owners to clarify requirements and ensure acceptance criteria are technically deliverable.Contribute to Agile ceremonies including estimation, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.Take ownership of work from design through to production without requiring day-to-day technical supervision.
