Overview: Weatherford is seeking a skilled and results-driven Field Engineer IV – MPD to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for providing technical and engineering support for Managed Pressure Drilling operations, optimizing MPD performance, enhancing drilling efficiency, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will work closely with country and regional teams, customers, and rig personnel to ensure accurate engineering analysis, operational execution, and compliance with company and client requirements. Additionally, this role plays a key part in planning, executing, and optimizing MPD operations safely and with minimal interruption to drilling activities. The position requires strong engineering expertise in hydraulic modeling, pressure management, well control principles, and MPD technologies while ensuring full compliance with Weatherford's quality and performance standards. Responsibilities: • Provide engineering support for Managed Pressure Drilling operations, including hydraulic calculations, pressure analysis, simulations, and operational planning. • Responsible for the technical execution and optimization of MPD operations at the rig site and remote support locations. • Directly responsible for providing engineering guidance to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of all MPD-related services onsite. • Remain on call 24 hours while on site and provide technical support as required. • Prepare and review daily operational reports, hydraulic models, simulations, lessons learned, and end-of-well reports. • Support pre-job planning activities, including risk assessments, technical reviews, and operational readiness evaluations. • Review drilling programs and provide recommendations related to MPD applications, operating procedures, and contingency plans. • Support rig-up, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and demobilization of MPD equipment at the job site. • Monitor real-time drilling parameters and MPD system performance to ensure operational objectives are achieved safely and efficiently. • Analyze operational data and recommend improvements to optimize drilling performance and reduce non-productive time (NPT). • Perform technical verification of MPD equipment functionality and ensure operational readiness prior to deployment. • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues related to MPD systems and provide engineering solutions. • Complete all required reports and documentation related to Managed Pressure Drilling operations and engineering support activities. • Keep updated on inspection requirements, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements related to Managed Pressure Drilling. • Demonstrate and apply advanced knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling systems, drilling hydraulics, pressure management, and well control principles. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Field Specialists and junior engineers as required. • Support client meetings, operational reviews, technical presentations, and performance improvement initiatives. • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions. • Comply with Weatherford and client Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (QHSSE) procedures and documentation on site. • Document all jobs and incidents in the Weatherford Performance Tracking System (WPTS). • Participate in the Permit to Work process. • Actively participate in Toolbox Talks and operational risk assessments. • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. • Required to complete the competency and training requirements identified by Global and Regional Management. • Complete training in order to meet the minimum HSE certification and technical requirements required to perform the job. • Perform all duties regarding Managed Pressure Drilling Services and Weatherford activities assigned by management or supervisors within the physical demands of the job description. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. • Minimum 7 years of Oil & Gas industry experience. • Minimum 5 years of direct Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operational and engineering experience. • Strong MPD knowledge including drilling hydraulics, pressure management, and well control principles. • Experience performing hydraulic simulations, pressure modeling, and engineering analysis. • Experience supporting onshore and offshore drilling operations. • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities. • Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills. • IWCF or IADC Well Control certification preferred. • Knowledge of API, ISO, and industry regulatory standards preferred. #LI-MD1
