JOB SUMMARY Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of OTB bars. DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None
• Takes orders from customers or Server. • Inventories supplies at beginning and end of shift. • Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks. • Serves wine and draught or bottled beer. • Collects money for drinks served. • Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies. • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display. • Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks. • Prepares all daily paperwork at the end of the shift. • Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts. • Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces. • Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions. • Other duties as assigned.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid beverage permit.
• Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment and maintaining a high level of professionalism with our guests and team members. • Flexible with working various shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours if applicable. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. • Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Will require access to the racing facility. • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
