The role

Join us as Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science and help shape the next generation of healthcare scientists. You’ll bring specialist expertise in Blood Sciences, such as haematology, transfusion science or a closely related discipline. You’ll also have current or recent NHS experience, HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist and substantial experience of teaching, training or supporting learners.

You’ll deliver engaging, professionally relevant education, lead modules, develop curricula and support IBMS-accredited provision. Working at Grade 8, you’ll provide academic leadership, strengthen NHS and employer partnerships, and contribute to apprenticeships, postgraduate programmes, professional practice and End Point Assessment, combining educational expertise with professional credibility and lasting real-world impact.

The School

The School of Biosciences and Chemistry provides courses in applied biological and chemical sciences, all delivered in a supportive, research-informed environment. The School consists of approximately 40 academic staff, active in research and with an excellent reputation for teaching.

We deliver a wide range of courses preparing graduates for professional roles across the bioscience, healthcare and chemistry sectors.

Our research is aimed at increasing understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of health and disease and its application to diagnosis, monitoring and treatment. We also excel in the application of analytical techniques to pharmaceutical, environmental and materials chemistry.
