Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Building Substitute to join our team 2.5 days a week. As a Building Substitute, you will play a crucial role in supporting various educational settings by providing coverage for absent staff members. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of students in diverse learning environments. Candidates must have a valid RI Teaching License. Responsibilities: - Implement lesson plans left by the absent teacher, TA, or other staff member - Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment - Support students in their learning activities and provide assistance as needed - Manage classroom behavior and encourage student engagement - Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity in educational activities - Follow school policies and procedures effectively Skills: - Proficiency in tutoring and assisting students with diverse learning needs - Experience in elementary education settings - Strong classroom management skills to create an organized learning environment - Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices - Ability to work with individuals with autism or special education requirements - Capacity to educate and engage students effectively - Familiarity with behavior management techniques
