The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams at London North-West University Healthcare NHS Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to deliver high quality rehabilitation to their patients.We are looking for an experienced, caring person to work within our existing therapy team providing a high standard of care as part of the MSK/ Neurology/ Rheumatology outpatient Physiotherapyservice and on our Orthopaedic trauma wards at Northwick Park Hospital.

You will lead/ assist with outpatient exercise classes and help book patients into exercise classes.

As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will provide clinical assessment and treatments under the supervision of qualified staff, be responsible for assisting in the triaging, prioritisation, and new patient assessments, review of equipment and care needs, delivery of rehabilitationprogrammes and discharge planning for your patients. You will need to become familiar with referral processes for community and other inpatient facilities.

Main duties of the job

Previous experience in a similar role is essential, whilst area specific training will be provided. Excellent Inter-personal skills are also essential as you will be required to liaise with clinicians, patients / carers and GPs, as appropriate

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

NVQ level III or Health and Social care related degree

Desirable

Evidence of continued professional development within the field of therapy

Skills Essential

Knowledge on therapy related patient assessments and exercise based programs Knowledge of how to assess a patient mobility. Ability to organise and prioritise. To be computer literate, with a range of applications

Desirable

presentation skills Read JD and PS and acknowledged trust values, duties and role Exercise prescription

Experience Essential

Working within a hospital environment Ability to work independently Working as part of a team oKnowledge of multi- disciplinary working e.g., team meetings, case conferences
