Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised, and patient-focused individual to join our Oncology administrative team as an Admin and Booking Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating the smooth running of patient pathways by providing efficient and responsive administrative support. Working closely with the Patient Pathway Coordinator, you will help ensure patients receive a seamless service throughout their treatment journey, acting as a key point of contact and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

The Admin and Booking Co-ordinator will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient management of oncology patient pathways through the provision of high-quality administrative services.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the Patient Pathway Coordinator in the administration and coordination of Oncology patient pathways. Booking, rescheduling and managing patient appointments in accordance with Trust policies and waiting time standards. Processing referrals and ensuring patient information is accurately recorded on Trust systems. Uploading, processing and maintaining clinical information and correspondence. Acting as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, GPs and other healthcare organisations. Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional, courteous and patient-centred manner. Providing administrative support to Oncology Consultants and multidisciplinary teams. Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support patient care. Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience Essential

Experience of Microsoft Office Applications and database software Experience of working within the NHS or a large organisation of similar size and volume of work.

Desirable

Knowledge, Training and Education Commitment to Trust Heart Values Ability to identify own training needs

Education/ Qualifications Essential

GCSE level for English and mathematics (C or above) or equivalent Knowledge of various systems used to administrate patient data.

Medical Terminology/ AMSPAR Previous experience in the role

Skills, Abilities and Attributes Essential

High standard of written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of quality standards applicable to patient care
