About this role

Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Services has a great opportunity for a Technical Instructor to join our Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy team.

This role is based mainly in Ashbourne but may also include part of the week in Belper.

We offer a supportive environment with senior clinical mentorship and leadership support across all of our teams. We have an established CPD offering and in service training programme.

Main duties of the job

The post will be flexible to move across sites according to department and service needs; therefore the ability to travel will be essential.

As a Technical Instructor working within our service you will:

Provide highly skilled support to Physiotherapists, aiding the rehabilitation of patients in the Outpatient Physiotherapy Service.

Provide initial assessment for designated patient groups, as agreed with Physiotherapy Team Lead

Work single handed and unsupervised when appropriate in out-patient department, without direct supervision or presence of a Physiotherapist

Plan and provide ongoing treatment, education and instruction to their caseload of patients seen in both individual and group settings. This will include some evaluation and progression of treatment programmes with access to the support of a Physiotherapist if required.

Be responsible for day-to-day maintenance, cleaning & testing of Physiotherapy equipment and treatment areas, adhering to department and Trust policy.

Education, Qualifications & Training Essential

English Language grade 4 or above at GCSE Level (or equivalent) Maths grade 4 or above at GCSE Level (or equivalent) NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant health care subject (or working towards)
