Senior Business Assistant
Position Description: Performs responsible and complex duties associated with a specialized function of a section of clerical employees. Duties may be generally described as planning, assigning, coordinating, directing, scheduling, evaluating, verifying, training, and processing of information. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and methods for the area of responsibility is required. Initiative and independent judgments are frequently exercised in formulating procedures or methods, and in program coordination. Work is performed under general supervision within University policies and procedures. Job performance is based on overall operational effectiveness.
Major/Essential Functions: • Greet visitors, answer questions, provide basic information, direct inquiries to appropriate staff. Provide administrative support to direct supervisor(s) and assists in other administrative areas as needed. • Preparing reports, typing memos, preparing spreadsheets, creating and editing PowerPoint presentations, researching information for projects, survey implementation (to including delivery and pick-up of surveys). • Supports the Serviceplus philosophy of Texas Tech. Supports the Total Quality Management philosophy of the Department of Hospitality Services. • Answers phones as needed as part of the Hospitality Services response group. Be proficient with the VoiceOver IP phone system. Operates copier, scanner, and fax machine. • Job includes working with other office staff, as well as communication with all Hospitality Services dining facilities, managers, and supervisory staff via phone, e-mail, and in person.
Required Qualifications: A minimum of a high school diploma or the equivalent. Three years progressively responsible clerical experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal three years may substitute on a year for year basis.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
