Job summary We are seeking a Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychologist with experience in neurodiversity to join our children's service, supporting assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with autism and ADHD.
You will work within a multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental team, providing psychological formulation, assessment and evidence-based intervention, and supporting families and schools to understand and meet children's needs.
Main duties of the job
Undertake specialist psychological assessments as part of the autism and/or ADHD diagnostic pathway for children and young people.
Provide psychological formulation and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.
Deliver individual and group interventions for children, young people and families, informed by neurodiversity-affirmative practice.
Offer training, consultation and supervision to colleagues, schools and carers.
Contribute to the development and evaluation of the neurodevelopmental pathway, including outcome monitoring.
Support children and families through key transitions, including school transitions and moves into adult services.
Maintain professional standards of clinical record-keeping and governance in line with HCPC/BPS requirements

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent), or relevant Educational Psychology qualification, with HCPC registration. Significant service experience working with children and young people with autism and/or ADHD. Experience of psychological assessment and formulation within neurodevelopmental pathways. Experience providing consultation, training or supervision to colleagues or schools. Strong understanding of neurodiversity-affirmative, strengths-based practice.
Desirable
Chartered Psychologist status (British Psychological Society). Specific training in autism/ADHD diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, DIVA, QbTest). Experience of service development or pathway redesign. Research or publication experience in neurodiversity.
Qualifications Essential
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) desirable. Enhanced DBS check with children's barred list (required for post).
