About this role
Job summary We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with experience of neurodiversity to join our adult service, supporting adults presenting with autism, ADHD and co-occurring mental health needs.
You will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, working within a multidisciplinary team and supporting adults to access diagnosis and appropriate ongoing support.
Main duties of the job
Undertake specialist psychological assessments as part of the adult autism and/or ADHD diagnostic pathway.
Provide psychological formulation, therapy and consultation for adults with neurodevelopmental conditions and co-occurring mental health difficulties.
Deliver individual and group interventions informed by neurodiversity-affirmative practice.
Offer training, consultation and supervision to colleagues across the service.
Contribute to pathway development, audit and outcome monitoring for adult neurodevelopmental services.
Support adults through transitions, including from CAMHS or into other adult services.
Maintain professional standards of clinical record-keeping and governance in line with HCPC/BPS requirements.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) desirable. Standard/Enhanced DBS check as required for post.
Experience Essential
Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent), with HCPC registration. Significant service experience working with adults with autism and/or ADHD. Experience of psychological assessment and formulation within neurodevelopmental pathways. Experience providing consultation, training or supervision to colleagues. Strong understanding of neurodiversity-affirmative, strengths-based practice.
Desirable
Chartered Psychologist status (British Psychological Society). Specific training in adult autism/ADHD diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, DIVA-5). Experience of service development or pathway redesign. Experience working with co-occurring mental health conditions in neurodivergent adults.
