About this role

Job summary

This post is full time covering 10 PA's (40 hours). There is no out of hours on call. A request to move from full time to part time will be considered in accordance with the Trusts flexible working procedure. Annualised contracts to allow for longer planned stints of leave will also be considered.

The main base is Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester.

Main duties of the job

Support the existing dermatology team in providing a dermatology inpatient and outpatient service, dermatology opinions for inpatient referrals, and Electronic Advice & Guidance (Teledermatology service) to GPs.

Support the development of the Dermatology service, including to promote and maintain close links with the commissioners, community dermatology and neighbouring trusts for local dermatology services.

Participate in weekly MDT meetings

Work closely with and help supervise the multi-professional group within the dermatology department

Job description Job responsibilities

Support the existing dermatology team in providing a dermatology inpatient and outpatient service, dermatology opinions for inpatient referrals, and Electronic Advice & Guidance (Teledermatology service) to GPs.

Support the development of the Dermatology service, including to promote and maintain close links with the commissioners, community dermatology and neighbouring trusts for local dermatology services.

Participate in weekly MDT meetings

Work closely with and help supervise the multi-professional group within the dermatology department

Participate in supervision and training of other healthcare professionals, including GPs with Extended Roles in West Dorset, according to local agreement between Dorset County Hospital, commissioners and other providers

Actively participate in the teaching programme for undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff

Contribute to Clinical Governance and Audit

A determination to be the successful lead provider of a range of appropriate services to the local community.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications and Training Essential

Full GMC Registration Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Dermatology via; oCCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview Portfolio pathway (previously referred to as CESR) An appropriate higher surgical/medical qualification

Experience and Knowledge Essential

At least 4 years supervised training in a Dermatology Specialist Registrar training programme or equivalent Experience demonstrating potential ability to cope with the demands of a District General Hospital-based Consultant

Current Skills and Abilities Essential
