Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our team at Thorpe Park Head Office. The role will consist of supporting the Endoscopy service team to ensure a safe and efficient patient journey through the endoscopy pathway. This role includes triage and clinical pre-assessment to determine patient suitability for community-based procedures.
Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care in the pre-assessment environment. Serve as the first clinical contact, ensuring appropriate management of key health conditions (e.g., anticoagulation, diabetes, comorbidities) in line with community-based service protocols. Conduct comprehensive patient histories and identify previously unreported health issues. Work independently and demonstrate clinical autonomy in decision-making. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals both verbally and in writing. Ensure adherence to JAG (Joint Advisory Group) standards and stay updated with British Society of Gastroenterology guidelines. Triage referrals according to contract criteria and clinical exclusion guidelines. Contribute to continuous quality improvement and lead change initiatives where required. Support the development and maintenance of evidence-based nursing care pathways.

Foster collaboration with primary and secondary care providers, ensuring alignment with NICE and NHSE guidelines. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Essential- Registered with a professional body.
Desirability to be educated to degree level.

Good IT Skills and ability to work with online programmes such as SystmOne.
