About this role

Job summary

We are looking for a enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic physiotherapy team. We are a very friendly, supportive team who are keen to recruit a physiotherapy assistant who is keen to support a varied caseload as a physiotherapy technician, looking to further expand their knowledge and skills. We actively encourage in-service training and recognise the value of supervision and appraisal. Main duties of the job

To manage the rehabilitation of specific uncomplicated Patients. Working without direct supervision, being responsible for assessing Patient progress and reporting back to the Physiotherapist as required. Instruct Patients and their carers, providing direction and guidance on a range of Physiotherapy activities. To deliver an individual Physiotherapy treatment programme based on set protocols, evidence based practise and treatment options using assessment skills and knowledge e.g. Patient education and exercises. Encourage Patients and their carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence. Attend ward based multi-disciplinary team meetings and participate in the clinical decision making process towards discharge planning. To liaise with next of kin regarding patient collateral

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GCSE in English and Maths of 4+ or equivalent

Desirable

Relevant qualification in healthcare or child development

Experience Essential

Experience working with people in public/health/care settings

Desirable

Experience and/or interest in working with inpatients

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Experience and confidence working using word, excel, and power point Demonstrate ability to work flexibly and prioritise tasks Be able to manage difficult conversations and manage stressful situations in a calm manner Demonstrate good organisational skills
