POSITION: Multiple Positions Elementary and Middle School - Long Term Substitute (must possess a Teaching Certificate) QUALIFICATIONS: See attached job description LOCATION: TBD EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2026 or upon completion of required paperwork. SALARY: The per diem rate established as budgeted and approved by the Board of Education for Substitute Teachers. Long-term Substitute Rate $220.00 Additional $25 per day for assignments over 20 days BENEFITS: Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription. PTO Days are included. John Bilodeau Superintendent GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: ELEMENTARY TEACHER (Pre K – Grade 8) QUALIFICATIONS: Holds or is eligible for a New Jersey Instructional Certificate (i.e., Teacher of Preschool K-3; Elementary K-5; Elementary School Teacher; Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped). Specific Certifications: School Counselor Cert., Math Gr 5-8 Cert., Middle School Science, Special Education K-5, REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: Instructs assigned pupils in accordance with curriculum adopted by the Board of Education. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrates competence in subject field(s) assigned and deemed highly qualified per standards established by NJDOE.
• Provides activities and experiences to meet the needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
• Assesses the academic and behavioral status of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Participates in identifying and meeting pupil needs in cooperation with other professional staff members.
• Establishes and maintains, with the support of administrators, standards of pupil behavior appropriate to the activity.
• Maintains professional competence through participation in inservice education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Prepares for classes assigned and develops general lesson plans related to established curriculum goals.
• Takes reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
• Makes a reasonable effort to cooperate professionally with other members of the staff.
• Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
COMPENSATION: The per diem rate established as budgeted and approved by the Board of Education for Substitute Teachers. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month year VACATION: There is no vacation time allotted to this position. EVALUATION: Performance of the job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
