BERKSHIRE HILLS REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Great Barrington Stockbridge West Stockbridge 08/12/2026 Position: Special Education Teacher – Grades 7-8 W.E.B. Du Bois Regional Middle School Requirements: Massachusetts Teaching Certificate: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (5-12). College degree in the general area in which the teacher is assigned. Qualifications: Demonstrated success in working with, and developing appropriate programming for, students with emotional disabilities including:
• Delivery of research-based mathematics instruction
• Planning differentiated data-based instruction for all types of students
• Implementation of behavior intervention plans and other positive behavior intervention strategies
• Management of IEPs (i.e. leading annual review meetings, writing IEPs, implementation)
• Small group social-emotional learning leader
• Assessment of student growth and progress using a data-based approach
• Communication with students, parents, staff and community members
• Strong collaboration with related service providers, general education and special education teachers
Demonstrated success in co-teaching and collaboration with general educators, special education teachers, and related service providers including the ability to adjust, modify and develop appropriate programming. Other qualifications as established by the District.
