QualificationsOne year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-7) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. For Entry at the GS-8 level, Specialized experience is defined as: Extensive knowledge of military pay rules, procedures, and operations to provide leadership, training, and support to a team responsible for processing complex pay actions. Experience in resolving complex discrepancies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as a subject matter expert for service members and federal agencies. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Major DutiesServe as Work Leader by identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks to team members in accordance with established workflow.Report to the supervisor on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, and progress in mastering tasks and work processes.Answer team member’s questions concerning work processes and procedures, policies and directives.Identify and act on computer system/program problems involving the DJMS-AC and DJMS-RC garnishment, bankruptcy, and tax levy (GBT) system.Answer all types of technical and complex correspondence and inquiries concerning active/reserve military pay that is being garnished by state courts and federal tax levies, or disbursed for reasons concerning a bankruptcy.
