About this role
Your mission As an R&D Engineer, you will take ownership of product development projects from concept to industrialization. You will play a key role in designing innovative mechanical solutions while ensuring technical excellence, manufacturability and compliance with customer and industry requirements. Product Development & Engineering Develop new products and improve existing solutions according to customer requirements, market expectations and company objectives Lead assigned R&D projects from concept, design and prototyping through validation and industrialization Create, review and validate 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models Define products in accordance with customer specifications, manufacturing constraints, technical standards and internal design rules Gather and analyze all technical information required for product development, including materials, tolerances, interfaces, manufacturing processes and performance criteria Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, design evaluations and technical assessments to support design decisions Identify technical risks and propose robust engineering solutions throughout the development process Prototyping, Testing & Validation Coordinate prototype manufacturing and sample production Define validation requirements and support product testing with internal laboratories and external technical partners Analyze test results, product failures and non-conformities, and implement appropriate corrective actions Ensure products meet quality, performance and regulatory requirements before industrialization Industrialization & Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, Sales and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, quality and cost efficiency Provide technical support regarding product specifications, materials, manufacturing feasibility and supplier-related technical topics Participate in supplier evaluations and technical reviews when required Support successful product industrialization and continuous product improvements Technical Documentation & Continuous Improvement Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, calculations, prototypes and engineering documentation Maintain accurate technical documentation, CAD files, calculations, test reports and product data Manage product information within SAP and internal engineering systems Participate in design reviews, technical discussions and cross-functional project meetings Contribute to design optimization, cost reduction, standardization and value engineering initiatives Support and mentor less experienced team members when needed Your profile Education & Technical Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline Professional experience in R&D, mechanical design or product development within an industrial environment Strong expertise in mechanical engineering principles and product development Excellent knowledge of 2D drawings and 3D CAD modelling Experience with Siemens NX is a strong advantage Good understanding of materials, tolerancing, manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability Experience with prototype development, testing and product validation Ability to interpret customer specifications, technical standards and regulatory requirements Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams is an advantage Knowledge of SAP is considered a plus Good command of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 Fluent English is mandatory French and/or German are considered strong assets Personal Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset Able to work autonomously and take ownership of engineering projects Excellent organizational and project management skills Attention to detail and engineering accuracy Collaborative team player with strong communication skills Proactive mindset focused on innovation and continuous improvement Comfortable managing multiple priorities in an international environment What makes this opportunity exciting A role with full ownership of innovative product development projects The opportunity to design products from concept through industrialization Exposure to multidisciplinary teams and international engineering projects A position combining mechanical design, technical analysis, testing and industrialization The chance to directly influence product performance, innovation and future developments What you will find at Rotarex The strength of a global industrial group combined with a family-oriented culture Real opportunities for training, development and career growth Flexible working hours (depending on the position) promoting a healthy work-life balance An attractive benefits package including additional holidays, bonuses and social benefits A new Industry 4.0 manufacturing site in Bissen, offering an ultra-modern working environment (canteens, fitness center, free parking, electric vehicle charging stations, air-conditioned facilities...)
