About this role
Your Tasks - Analysis of customer-, mission- and system requirements, including support of a functional analysis, definition of a specification tree and identification of proposed adaptations - Flowdown of requirements to subsystem and equipment level using DOORS - Support to trade-offs, analysis and definition of mission- and system architecture - Contribution to the definition and design of space systems including mission- and system design, analyses and design of entire space systems, subsystems and their specifications - Contribution to interface and budget management of respective domain - Technical coordination of subsystems and internal projects (e.g. impact investigation for requirements changes) - Technical coordination of subcontractors by order of the Project Chief Engineer and / or the Project Manager - Direct reporting to Project Chief Engineer and, on request, to Project Management - Technical coordination with counterparts on industry and/or ESA side - Support the corresponding system design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and the verification planning - Monitor the compliance to requirements. Coordination with the Project Chief Engineer and Project Management and to initiate suitable measures - Support implementation of agreed changes to the design and deliverables, e.g. for RFWs (Request for Waiver) or RFDs (Request for Deviation) or NCRs (Non-Compliance Reports) - Contribute to system and subsystem level verification in the definition of test plans, test procedures and review of test results - Write test specifications, support procedure generation and execution and evaluate test results for requirements verification - Contribution to the elaboration of proposals for exploration missions Your Qualifications - Completed studies (Diploma or Master) in aerospace engineering or equivalent qualification. - At least 4-5 years of relevant experience - General knowledge of system engineering - Knowledge of requirements analysis - Knowledge of preparation of specifications - Knowledge of the definition of space system architectures - Knowledge of interface management - Ideally already practical experiences in the domains of Exploration, Space Safety and/or Space Transportation - Good communication skills - Ability to work in a team and communicate in complex international collaboration in line with established rules and needed conduct - Creativity - Solution orientation - Good English skills, ideally good German skills
