Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Wood products manufacturer. Tasks: Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines. Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures and other wood products. Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Resolve product and service related problems. Perform ongoing machine adjustments. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Assist other processing workers in the operation of various woodworking machines and equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Computerized woodworking machine. Drills. Planers. Sanders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Ability to work independently.
