Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Offshore drilling rig. Tasks: Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Supervise the building and testing of prototypes. Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports.
