About this role

Job summary

Do you want to take up an exciting opportunity to join our Breast Unit admin team?

We are looking for a new Patient Pathway Coordinator to join our well established team.

If you have a calm and empathetic nature, enjoy talking to patients and can work on your own initiative this could be the job for you. You will need to be able to use your negotiating skills to with clinicians and patients to ensure that patients receive their treatment within our target times.

This post is based onsite and is a key role within the Trust.

There is always something different to learn and it is a fast paced role needing attention to detail and a sense of humour!

Full support and training is provided.This is a part time post @ 22.5 hours - You must be able to work on Mondays and Fridays, and any other day of the week.

Main duties of the job

To provide a full and comprehensive administration service to the Breast Unit, including welcoming patients at reception. This will require the post holder to possess great communication skills and a warm welcoming manner.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience Essential

Experience of working in a customer/patient focused environment Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality Experience dealing with people (customers, patients) over the telephone or in person

Desirable

Experience of dealing with patients appointments

Specific Skills Essential

Polite and professional telephone manner and ability to deal with angry, difficult or distressed callers Excellent organizational skills Ability to work as part of a team

Qualifications Essential

Educated to GCSE/O level or equivalent work experience
