Patient Flow Coordinator | Band 4 | Urgent, Elderly and Intermediate Care (previous applicants need not apply).

Location: Bradford Royal Infirmary

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (on a shift rotation basis)

The hospital has approximately 650 beds, employs in the region of 7,000 whole time equivalent staff and has an annual turnover of £350m. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the team of Patient Flow coordinators working in the Command Centre at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Candidates must have current acute hospital clinical experience, with an interest in patient flow and acute services.

Main duties of the job

Due to current Home Office Guidelines, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.

When required, this role involves support to clinical areas with direct patient cares, whilst working within the limitation of your own clinical competency, so demonstration of competence in a range of clinical skills and extended clinical knowledge relevant to the scope of practice is required.

The Command Centre operates 24/7; 365 days andthe successfulcandidate will be expected to work shifts including weekends, bank holidays and night duties

The post offers diversity and an opportunity to gain clinical site management and patient flow experience working closely with all Trust clinical areas but particularly with the Emergency Department

Experience Essential

Previous NHS experience Experience to prioritise and manage a diverse workload Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Experience of relating to people at all levels (demonstrates ability) Experience working in and Acute Hospital Environment Experience of using EPR

Skills Essential

Literacy and numeracy skills Excel, word, keyboard and powerpoint skills Proven organisational skills Able to deal with sensitive/confidential issues on a daily basis Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Able to work without direct supervision Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Ability to work in a high pressured and fast paced environment Competent in a range of clinical skills and extended clinical knowledge relevant to the scope of practice required

Knowledge Essential

Understand service developments and national performance standards Understands the principles of patient flow and the significance of efficiency in patient flow management

Qualifications Essential

Knowledge of personal care and related procedures to the level of NVQ level 2 or equivalent relevant experience Educated to A Level or acquired relevant equivalent qualification/experience
