We are seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our friendly, supportive, and dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.

As the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional experience for everyone who visits our health centre. You will be responsible for greeting patients, organising clinic diaries, handling telephone enquiries, providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must have good organisational skills, a range of office skills and experience in working in reception/administration. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will have both face to face and telephone contact with service users on a daily basis. Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, a friendly approach and being enthusiastic are all required for this post. A knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per annum pro rata.

Person Specification

Education Essential

GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification grade C and above Typing speed of 30 words per minute

Experience Essential

Experience working in an office environment Basic IT knowledge and experience including carrying out basic internet navigation Experience of data entry Basic knowledge of and experience of using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook

Skills Essential

Good organisational skills Ability to organise and maintain manual and computerised storage systems Ability to cope with difficult situations Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Other Essential

Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
