About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the North Staffordshire arm (Newcastle and Leek) of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Talking Therapies Service. This Service is a partnership between North Staffs Combined Health Care, the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust and third sector providers and is an innovative high performing Talking Therapies team providing effective treatments for a broad range of common mental health problems in primary care.

We are looking to recruit a part time (18.75 hours per week) CBT Therapist on a temporary fixed term contract ending 16-Mar-2027 to cover maternity leave.

To apply you should have qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT from an accredited training provider, and have some experience of treating common mental health problems. Previous experience of working in a Talking Therapies service is desirable

We are able to offer a flexible working pattern with options to work from and home and in one of our bases.

Main duties of the job

Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients with depression and the range of anxiety disorders.

Adhere to agreed activity relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week.

Attend regular clinical supervision and caseload management

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services Experience of teaching and liaising with other professional groups

Qualifications Essential

Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or Equivalent Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner

Desirable

Relevant experience in Primary Care treating anxiety and depression

Knowledge Essential

Full range of skills and competencies as laid out in the competence framework for CBT (Roth and Pilling 2007)

Desirable

Trained in provision of supervision for CBT Accredited with a professional psychological therapy organisation
