Job summary
Are you passionate about promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people, and survivors of domestic abuse? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced safeguarding practitioner working in Nottingham Countys Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at a time of great change and reform within Childrens Services.
The post will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a multi-agency team in partnership with a range of agencies from across the safeguarding partnership, such as the Police and Childrens Services, Adult social care. You will undertake a number of key functions within the MASH, sharing relevant health information to help ensure that adults, children and young people in Nottinghamshire receive the right help at the right time.
The post holder will need to have robust safeguarding knowledge, and a solution-focused approach which will enable them to develop effective professional relationships with safeguarding partners. You will have experience working directly with adults, children and families - applying safeguarding policy and processes.

Main duties of the job
The MASH Practitioner will be responsible for the delivery of CityCares key functions within the MASH including:
Ensuring health records are reviewed, analysed, and relevant information shared with Social Care in a timely manner where there are safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse incidents, or a request for additional support services has been made.Attending strategy discussions as the health representative where there are concerns that a child has, or is likely to suffer, significant harm. You will contribute to the multi-agency decision making process, including any immediate or short-term actions required to safeguard the children and adults.Ensuring domestic abuse notifications are reviewed and recorded on SystmOne and are shared with the appropriate services.Adherence to CityCares safeguarding and domestic sexual violence and abuse (DSVA) processes and policies, current legislation, and national and local guidance/procedures.

Job Purpose
The role of the MASH Practitioner is:
To work within the Nottinghamshire County MASH to deliver the health function within the MASH To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team without direct supervision but reporting back to the MASH coordinator. To ensure that processes are in place to analyse and share information and data in line with service specification. To support the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to deliver a safe and effective response to children and adults at risk of harm in Nottinghamshire. To promote holistic healthcare for the adults, babies, children, young people and families that are subject to a MASH enquiry/strategy discussion. To ensure that the rights, needs and dignities of adults, babies, children, young people and families are met through robust analysis and review of the information available, and decisions/outcomes are strengths-based and child-focused. To work in partnership with other agencies across the MASH and build constructive and professional relationships. To ensure appropriate and relevant information is shared with partner agencies and outcomes/ decisions are clearly documented and demonstrate compliance with Caldicott Principles

Key Responsibilities
To support the delivery of the MASH key functions and fulfil CityCare's commitment to this multi-agency team.The post holder will be able to analyse health records and summarise often complex information in a clear and concise manner and share this during strategy discussion and other information sharing functions with other agencies.To be able to identify any potential unmet health needs and provide feedback and advice to the wider organisation.The post holder will be able to communicate to the multi-agency team any concerns that might affect priority and risk assessment in a timely manner.The post holder will be able to influence, negotiate and respectfully challenge colleagues when there is opposing opinion about the outcome of the strategy discussion or regarding case direction.If a joint decision cannot be reached the post holder will escalate this to their line manager for further discussion or advice and implement the CityCare Escalation process where necessary.To provide and receive complex and sensitive information concerning patients medical information.Following notification of cases, the post holder will be able to work autonomously and organise and prioritise daily workload.You will be able to use appropriate evidenced based tools to assess the physical and emotional wellbeing of adults, babies, children, young people, and families.To work within CityCare policy and procedure.Demonstrate excellent communication, initiative, organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly in a multiagency team setting.Attend internal and external team meetings.Ensure clear, accurate and up to date documentation on SystmOne as per local record keeping policy.Maintain an accurate diary in accordance with lone working policy and adhere to mobile working guidance where necessary.To work in partnership with adults, children, young people and families and with local partners across the Nottinghamshire children and adults Partnership, statutory and voluntary agenciesTo work in a holistic manner that maintains focus on the wellbeing of the child and identify and take appropriate action / make appropriate referrals in any situation where there may be vulnerability, safeguarding or health concerns.To access and participate in safeguarding supervision.To prepare reports, where appropriate this may be under supervision. Deputise and attend meetings and reviews where appropriate.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in relevant nursing, social care or teaching subject Safeguarding Training to a level 3 standard
