Main duties of the job
We have a great opportunity for experienced community children's nurses on the NMC register to gain one year sponsorship to Specialist Community Children's Nursing programme at Hertfordshire University while on placement in our CCN team in Newham.
A key focus of the role will be to work with patients and their families to promote healthy and independent living.
Along with your clinical expertise, you will be:
a champion of integrated community care. a strong team player an excellent communicator adaptable, committed, well organised and work well under pressure.
You will be allocated a Practice Supervisor whom you will work with while in practice, and a Practice Assessor who will be responsible for your assessment, in conjunction with your supervisor.

RSCN/ RN Child Branch Evidence of continued professional development 1st Level Degree (or working towards) Mentorship module (ENB 998 or equivalent Desire and ability to undertake SpQ (CCN) SPQ DN / PN / CCN Training 2025 Registered Adult Nurse (active on NMC register) Registered Children's Nurse (Active in Register) - For CCN Post registration community nursing experience (as of September 2025)

Significant experience at Band 5 working with children & young people . Experience of working with children complex health care Needs, Experience of interagency working Experience of supporting children and families through the child protection process Experience of Supporting children and young people with life threatening or life-limiting conditions. Experience of managing staff and resources Experience of providing supervision in an advisory role Post registration community nursing experience (as of September 2025) The programme is offered at L7 therefore previous successful study at minimum of level 6 (Degree) is required. Recent academic experience especially at L7 (if not a degree holder) Possession of Mentorship or Practice Assessor course at the start of the programme (PAST/ NM3272/ ENB 998 etc)
