The Role

You will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. Assistant Professors lead on aspects of student learning experience including leadership of staff teams.

Based within the College of Engineering, Environment and Science you will work with and lead academic colleagues to enrich student learning and teaching experience to ensure aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.

You will also collaborate with the students from the Phoenix Racing team to help them design, build and implement powertrains for automotive and motorsport design/build project vehicles

Qualifications Required

Master’s degree in appropriate subject OR (if from professional practice background) a good Honors Degree and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education. PhD or active membership of appropriate professional body is advantageous. Experience in Automotive or Motorsport Powertrain environment is essential including understanding of GT Suite software, engine mapping and use of engine test facilities, dynamometers.

Our Successful Candidate

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in vehicle powertrain systems with development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.

An experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency, experience using creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching using VLE.
