Llanberis Surgery is a well-established, friendly NHS GP practice located on 3 sites providing high-quality, patient-centred care to the local community which includes dispensing services. Situated in the heart of Eryri, Snowdonia. We are proud of our dedicated team, strong community links, and commitment to delivering excellent primary care. This is a GMS practice with 6 GP partners and a patient population of around 5700 patients. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking Practice Manager to lead the operational and strategic management of the practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong leadership skills who is passionate about supporting staff, improving services, and helping shape the future of primary care.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the GP Partners, clinical team, and wider healthcare organisations, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the practice while leading on strategic planning and service development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing operational and strategic leadership for the practice.
Managing practice finances, budgeting, and business planning.
Leading recruitment, HR, staff development, and performance management.
Ensuring compliance with NHS contractual requirements, CQC regulations, and relevant legislation.
Overseeing governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
Managing contracts, premises, facilities, and information governance.
Working collaboratively with patients, external stakeholders, and partner organisations to continuously improve services.
Supporting the practice in meeting performance targets and delivering outstanding patient care.

We are looking for a motivated and organised leader who has:
Previous management experience within primary care, healthcare, or another complex service environment.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and people management skills.
Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
A sound understanding of NHS primary care and current healthcare developments.
Experience of HR management and employment legislation.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
The ability to manage change positively and work effectively under pressure.
Desirable:
Previous experience as a Practice Manager within an NHS GP practice.
Knowledge of GP contracts, Quality Assurance and Improvement Framework QAIF, Enhanced Services, and Primary Care Networks.
Experience using GP clinical systems such as EMIS Web.
A recognised management qualification or equivalent experience.
