Person Specification
Requirements Essential
Working in addiction services is incredibly rewarding, but it can also be challenging, so resilience, compassion and empathy are essential. No two days are the same, and you'll play a vital role in supporting people through every stage of their recovery journey. We're looking for a leader who combines strong clinical understanding with excellent leadership skills and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within residential addiction, mental health or dual-diagnosis services, with a strong understanding of substance misuse, recovery models and trauma-informed care. You will be confident leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, managing risk, safeguarding and complex mental health needs, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as CQC. You'll also have experience overseeing day-to-day service operations, including staffing, performance and quality improvement, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, families and external professionals. A compassionate, non-judgemental approach that reflects recovery-focused values is essential. Professional registration (such as NMC, HCPC or Social Work England), experience working in a therapy-led or non-medical treatment setting, and experience working with Local Authorities would be advantageous but are not essential.
