Permanent Contract

Hours: Part time 21 hours per week, 3 days per week

Working Wednesday plus 2 days over a 5 day working week

Salary:

£27,783.70 FTE per annum, pro rata for part time

Annual salary shown based on a 35 hours per week, full time equivalent (FTE) Final annual salary will be calculated on a pro rata basis to reflect 21 hours per week contracted hours, which amounts to £16,670.22 per annum / £15.26 per hourAnnual Vehicle Allowance:

£1560 FTE per annum, pro rata for part time

Annual Vehicle Allowance shown based on a 35 hours per week, full time equivalent (FTE) Final Annual Vehicle Allowance will be calculated on a pro rata basis to reflect 21 hours per week contracted hours, which amounts to £936.00

Essential requirements

Current, full, valid driving licence Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to use it for business travel (business mileage expenses will be reimbursed) Experience in construction, property maintenance or a recognised trade Applicants will ideally have access to their own basic toolkit and be willing to use it for routine maintenance and repair tasks. Main duties of the job

Working alongside our Retail Facilities Manager, you'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across our shops. No two days are the same. One day you may be completing repairs or decorating a shop, and the next you could be carrying out fire safety checks, supporting a new shop opening, or helping maintain outdoor areas.

Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across our retail estate Undertaking minor repairs including carpentry, plumbing, decorating and general building maintenance Completing health and safety, fire safety and maintenance checks Supporting the upkeep of shop interiors and exteriors to ensure they remain safe and welcoming Assisting with maintenance requirements for new shop openings and refurbishments Working with volunteers and external contractors where appropriate Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections

You'll need:

Experience in general building maintenance, construction or a recognised trade Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in construction, repair or maintenance work Good understanding of health and safety requirements Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication and IT skills A flexible approach and the ability to organise and prioritise work

Job description Job responsibilities

In conjunction with the Retail Facilities Manager, responsible for both routine exterior and interior maintenance of EACHs retail units throughout East Anglia. As well as ensuring all remedial maintenance is carried out within all retail units, undertaking Health & Safety and Maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Review the Facilities Maintenance Log and individual email account at least daily, manage/complete all reactive Repair or Request tasks within the predetermined timeframe, ordering parts required as necessary with Retail Facilities Manager and update Log.

Manage/ complete all proactive Planned Preventative Maintenance and Routine Maintenance tasks in accordance with their designated frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, etc), as per the Maintenance Schedule and ensure all reports/checklists are completed, reviewed and all required actions reported to Retail Facilities Manager.

Undertake Property inspections in conjunction with the Retail Facilities Manager, identifying any issues, repairs or advisory works or recommendations for the general upkeep of the property.

Carry out minor plumbing repairs, carpentry, building work and general maintenance.

Carry out maintenance tasks in new shops, prior to opening.

Change light bulbs, check appliances and carry out such minor electrical repairs as are within the post holders competency, experience and legislation limitations.

Complete all decorative and painting works as required to ensure all building areas maintain appropriate standard within branding guidelines.

Undertake external maintenance and caretaking, such as painting, gardening, fence panels, & gutters as appropriate to ensure the necessary upkeep of the grounds and ensuring safe access and exit.

Communicate with local volunteers to plan their volunteer time to assist in the maintenance of buildings and support with developing their skills and knowledge.

Advise on the necessity of bringing in outside contractors and to supervise their work as far as appropriate, completing all necessary paperwork/checks on arrival on site prior to the commencement of their work.

Undertake administrative record-keeping in relation to maintenance works including but not limited to communication of works, completion of relevant logs, updating ticket system in a timely manner and internal team updates.

Research replacement parts required to resolve plant/equipment faults, place order for parts with Retail Facilities Manager, travel to supplier stores to collect items as necessary/ requested.

Assist Retail Managers with fire emergencies and evacuation procedures, testing and setting of smoke/heat detectors/emergency lighting/fire extinguishers as required by legislation and record in fire log book.

In conjunction with the Retail Facilities Manager carry out remedial works including but not limited to fire safety checks, Health & Safety checks and audits for all EACH shops.

Provide practical support to retail teams in maintaining fire safety standards across the estate, working in line with organisational policies, procedures, and current legislation.

Assist managers by offering guidance on fire safety requirements, promoting good fire safety practices, and supporting staff with fire safety awareness where required.

Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to help ensure fire safety systems and equipment are maintained, and that any issues are reported and resolved promptly.

Qualifications Essential

Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures Understanding of the problems which may be found in older buildings Up to date knowledge and good understanding of relevant Health & Safety issues and legislation

Skills & Abilities Essential

Ability to complete maintenance tasks accurately and safely Able to organise and prioritise work Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and contractors. Ability to manage and prioritise own workload effectively. Ability to adapt to changing work demands, locations and maintenance priorities while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, volunteers, contractors and shop teams Ability Microsoft packages including email, teams, word and excel to record and manage maintenance tasks. Ability to identify practical solutions to maintenance issues

Experience Essential

General maintenance or building experience including carpentry, plumbing and electrical

Desirable

Working knowledge of relevant legislation A qualification in a construction trade A qualification in a relevant construction trade or equivalent practical experience.

Other Requirements Essential

Current, full valid driving license Own vehicle available for business use
