Job summary
We are looking for a forward thinking Occupational Therapist to join Community OT team based at Hollyfield House, Surbiton, as a bank colleague . We are an extremely friendly and supportive innovative service. We work on patents own goals and keep patients at the centre of everything we do.
The post would be clinically located at Cedars Ward, Teddington Memorial Hospital (TMH) where we have a 25 bedded rehabilitation unit. The Adult Community Occupational Therapy team provide an assessment, treatment and discharge support service to the MDT based on Cedars.Previous experience of ward work would be ideal.
Our services at Your Healthcare work closely together, and with other partners, in the provision of a heath and social care service to patients living within the Royal Borough of Kingston.
This is a bank role to cover maternity leave at TMH. There are a maximum of 30 hours available per week. The usual working hours are 08.00 16.00 . Details of the working week can be discussed with the contacts that are included in this advert or at interview .
You will be based at Cedars Unit, TMH although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites and places of residence as needed.

Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Your Healthcare Integrated Occupational Therapy team across all their working environments to provide an Occupational Therapy Service to patients who may have complex acute, chronic, or multiple pathology presentations requiring assessment and rehabilitation either an in-patient or in the community setting.
To formulate goal focussed treatment plans and delegate appropriately to technical instructors and generic care assistants who work as members of the multidisciplinary team.
To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the communication of information to all health and social care agencies involved, to meet the holistic needs of the patient.
To contribute to the of planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services provided in the rehabilitation services.
To provide supervision and support to less senior staff, assistants, other professionals and act as clinical educator for undergraduate students.

Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy HCPC registration Evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development

Experience Essential
Ideally 2 years+ post graduate experience in field of rehabilitation (Hospital and/or community settings) Competencies of Band 6 gateway. Experience in a wide range of conditions found in the Care of the Elderly spectrum Experience in Assessment and Rehabilitation of Adults and Older People presenting with complex pathology Experience of clinical supervision of junior staff and students

Experience of functional and organic mental health difficulties
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE Essential
