Job Description Job DescriptionLicensed Industrial Electrician - Automotive Manufacturing Location: Strasburg, Ontario We are seeking a skilled Licensed Industrial Electrician to support electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience with industrial electrical systems, automated production equipment, and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment and automated manufacturing systems. • Diagnose electrical, electronic, and control-system faults to minimize production downtime. • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery, motors, sensors, control panels, and production equipment. • Troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, relays, variable frequency drives, and electrical circuits. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. • Support automated assembly lines, robotic equipment, conveyors, and other automotive production systems. • Complete electrical installations and modifications in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards. • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. • Document repairs, inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment issues. • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures. Qualifications
• Valid Ontario Industrial Electrician 442A licence or equivalent recognized trade certification. • Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably within the automotive industry or a high-volume manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, electrical controls, motor controls, sensors, and automated equipment. • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. • Experience troubleshooting three-phase electrical systems, motors, drives, and control panels. • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team. • Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and production efficiency. • Ability to work required shifts and respond effectively to urgent equipment breakdowns. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with robotics, automated assembly systems, conveyors, and manufacturing equipment. • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis. • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and maintenance documentation. • Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
